We live in a wild world.
Radio, television, newspapers, blogs - it's a sea of turbulence in our changing times. How ought we to examine the world around us and the fast-hitting events we hear about every day? As Christians, how are we to respond? Al Mohler's daily broadcast, The Briefing, sheds light on the world's current events. Described as a "Daily worldview analysis about the leading news headlines and cultural conversations," The Briefing offers a short 20 minute investigation into what's going today and how we ought to evaluate it. It's practical examination at your fingertips. Take a listen.

Will be this September!
Dates and details to come. Join Grace Bible Fellowship this Sunday for a Thanksgiving Fellowship Meal. The meal will take place right after the Sunday service (Nov. 17) starting around 12:30 - 1:00 p.m.
Feel free to bring an item! We look forward to giving thanks and sharing our table with you! Several of our church members belong to an organization called Soul Caring Outreach.
This mission-focused group organized the purchase and equipping of several vans - filled to the brim with medications, supplies, clothing, and other donations - for churches in Nigeria affiliated with the organization. Grace Bible Fellowship was honored to be a part of the van send-off and asks that you join us in prayer for the safe travel and delivery of these vehicles and that God would use these resources as a means to bless the Nigerian brethren. This Tuesday, September 17th, will begin a series of monthly Bible studies for men of all ages at Grace Bible Fellowship.
Join Pastor Rod at 6:30 p.m. for some edifying time with fellow brothers in Christ! You won't want to miss it. This Sunday, we celebrated several of our fellow believers and their changed lives in Christ through baptism! Indian Hills Baptist Church and Grace Bible Fellowship gathered together to worship, hear the Word of the Lord, baptize the professing believers, and share a meal. If you would like copies of any of these photos, email gbfsilvercity@yahoo.com. Congratulations to our young church member, Joelle, for graduating from the Grace Bible Fellowship youth service to the main service! Please pray for this young lady as she hears the Word of the Lord preached, that she might know God and seek after Him with her whole heart. July 27th was a special Sunday service for us; church member Tanner Thetford was deemed licensed to preach by the elders and pastor. What does it mean to be licensed to preach? After more than a year of preaching whenever asked to by Pastor Rod, Tanner was believed to be capable and gifted by God to preach the Word. This recognition of ability and calling by God demonstrates Grace Bible Fellowship's support of Tanner and his journey towards becoming a preacher. Currently, Tanner is striving to pursue this passion by doing online coursework towards a Masters of Theological Studies through Reformed Theological Seminary. Please pray for him as he strives to seek after the Lord. In September of 2012, Grace Bible Fellowship held a church barbeque at our pastor's home in Mule Creek, New Mexico. It had all the staples of a joyful gathering... dutch oven cooking, worship on the acoustic guitars, children exploring the creek, and a good old game of horse shoes. There was many a conversation concerning our delight in the Lord as well as enduring through trials, encouraging us to seek Christ all the more. We'll be sure to do this again soon! |
